We are a place for discovery.
Every day, young and old find new and compelling titles here at Righton Books. They discover books they didn’t know existed. Subjects they didn’t know they were curious about. Words they didn’t imagine could make them laugh, or cry. Dreams they didn’t know they had. This is what we live for.
Featuring a world-class selection of illustrated books in categories such as art, architecture, design, photography, interior design, automobiles, and more, Righton Books also offers all the latest fiction and nonfiction titles.
Our children’s section is second-to-none and includes a large selection of young adult titles. We also feature the largest selection of cookbooks in the southeast, a vast music section and a section dedicated to boating and sailing.
You will also find an incredible assortment of gift items including stationery from kate spade new york, Lilly Pulitzer and G. Lalo of France, pens from Lamy of Germany, candles, jigsaw puzzles, notebooks and journals from Rhodia and Decomposition, art supplies, and much more.
Our latest addition is a Jittery Joe’s Coffee location attached to the store. We offer all the usual coffee and espresso drinks, tea from Harney & Sons, and many locally-baked pastry items. Seating is available inside and out.
So whether you are looking for the perfect gift, a great recipe for dinner, a spectacular cup of coffee, or the latest Grisham novel, Righton Books in Redfern Village is the place for you.
The store is the culmination of a fifty-year career in retail for Darryl Peck. He has always envisioned creating an independent bookstore like the ones he loved in his native Upper West Side of Manhattan. Darryl is now living the bookshop-keeper dream and working alongside his wife of thirty years.
Righton Books bears the name of Anne Peck’s father, a voracious reader who also loved to ride the Emmeline and Hessie ferry boats to St. Simons as a child. Anne’s mother, Jean Lyndon, worked as a children’s librarian and genealogist in Macon, so it’s no surprise that Anne’s parents called her “Nose in a Book.”
