Local Author-palooza Small Business Saturday Event

November 27 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

We are thrilled to be hosting four beloved local authors on Small Business Saturday, November 27. They will be here to chat with you and sign books. Please don’t miss this opportunity to support both your local bookstore and four local authors.

2-4 pm:

Matthew Raiford author of Bress ‘n’ Nyam, a cookbook.

Kaia Alderson author of Sisters in Arms, a novel.

Jingle Davis, author of Island Time and Island Passages

3-5 pm:

Laura Morelli author of The Stolen Lady, a novel.

Matthew Raiford grew up breaking the dirt and trading crookneck squash for sweet potatoes, raising hogs and chickens, and only going to the grocery store for sundries. A chef, certified ecological horticulturalist, veteran, and owner of Gilliard Farms, Raiford was named a 2018 James Beard Award semifinalist, and has been featured in the New York Times, Bon Appetit, Southern Living, and more.

Kaia Alderson is a women’s historical fiction author with a passion for discovering “hidden figures” in African American women’s history. Her specific areas of interest are women’s military history, popular music, women in sports, upper-middle-class African American society, and women’s international travel. She holds a sociology degree from Spelman College and a master’s degree in education from the University of West Georgia. She honed her writing chops at the Hurston/Wright Foundation’s and VONA’s writing workshops.

Jingle Davis is a retired journalist who worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, often covering south Georgia and the coast.

Laura Morelli holds a Ph.D. in art history from Yale University and is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling historical novelist. Laura has taught college students in the U.S. and in Italy. She has covered art and authentic travel for TED-Ed, National Geographic Traveler, Italy Magazine, CNN Radio, and other media. Laura is the author of the popular Authentic Arts guidebook series that includes Made in Italy. Her historical novels, including The Night Portrait and The Gondola Maker, bring the stories of art history to life.
